Frequently asked questions.
How do I get started?
The process begins with a brief discussion of the creative vision, game theme and target market of the game in development. After our team fully defines your goals and services needed, we request a Sound Requirement Sheet and a Reference Video in order to determine the production cost, duration and project scheduling.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF ME IN ORDER TO RECEIVE AN EXACT PRICE QUOTE?
We ask that you provide as much detail on your project as possible. We require a Sound Requirement Sheet and a Reference Video to create the final price quote.
WHAT SHOULD THE SOUND REQUIREMENT SHEET CONTAIN?
A Sound Requirement Sheet must contain a complete list of sounds required for the project.
Each sound must have the following information:
- Item Number
- Feature (which feature of the game the sound belongs to)
- Sound Type (background music, sound effect or voice-over)
- Sound Title
- File Name
- Description
- Length
- Requirement (creative specifics)
- Video Time Reference (we ask that you attach a Reference Video along with Sound Requirement Sheet. Please specify the exact timing of the video where the sound effect appears. We only require one sound instance as a reference)
- Loop (please indicate if the sound needs to be looped)
The following sample is simply a guideline. If there are any questions, issues or concerns, please contact us.

How long does it take to design sound for a slot game?
The exact production duration depends on the amount of sounds, music length and theme complexity. Slot game audio production duration can start at 2 weeks, for a simple game, and up. Please contact for more information.
How are services priced?
Our services are priced per project basis. After reviewing your Sound Requirement Sheet and Reference Video, we provide a quote based on the production requirements. Please contact us for more information.
How does Game Sound Planet guarantee my satisfaction?
For complete client satisfaction we offer two type of sound changes:
Free changes are provided to the client if the sound designer hasn't achieved the creative intent of the client or did not follow specific requirements.
Paid changes are provided if the client has changed their requirements after production completion (includes: animation changes, choreography changes, etc.)
In order to avoid confusion after sound production, if requested, our team is willing to synchronize all the production files to your reference video to create a demonstration of the final product before implementation.
After implementation of sounds into the game, if requested, our team is willing to test all audio to make sure the sound design has translated into the game as intended. Achieve the most quality control by allowing a sound professional test the final audio.

When Should the sound be designed in an overall game production cycle?
Sound should be the last step of the production. Any choreography or graphic changes that are made after production completion will result in audio changes, thus further production costs.
What are the benefits of having sound professionals implement the sounds?
UNDERSTANDING AUDIO
Just like Game Developers speak the programming language, Sound Professionals have their own. Many production techniques tend to carry over to the Implementation stages in order to achieve an overall flow to the game.
CLEAR FINAL MIX
Sound engineers are valued because of their abilities to listen. They understand and can pin-point the cause of any issue in an audio mix. An audio professional is more likely to improve the final mix quality by setting priority to sounds and avoid distortion that can be caused by two or more sounds playing at the same time. Background music Side-chain (or "ducking") along with other techniques can result in crystal-clear sounding game.

What is mixing/finalizing and why is it so important?
The art of manipulating and enhancing sound level, dynamics, frequency content, panoramic position, reverb and echo when combining 2 or more sounds into a mix. This creative process is necessary to achieve overall appeal to the player as well as maximum loudness without distortion.
